Your Community Association Needs You!
By Denise Mary Bacon
Community associations are vital to thriving communities. Typically run by volunteers, they often organize community events to connect people with each other, from children to our seniors. They advocate for the best interests of residents when decisions are being made by developers and politicians from all levels of government. They organize local events like summer festivals, concerts, arts exhibitions, Canada Day celebrations, and more.
But they can’t succeed in helping you and your community if you and others don’t help back! So why not consider joining one near you today?
A great opportunity to learn more about local associations you can join will be on June 2. That’s when five different community associations which will be hosting a free BBQ at Agincourt Mall from 12 – 2 PM. All are welcome!
This event is being organized by community associations for Agincourt Village, Brimley Forest, C.D. Farquharson, Rosewood Taxpayers’ and Richmond Park.
